Was als Idee zu einem kleinen Festival für elektronische Musik begann, entwickelte sich zu einem der Highlights des Festivalsommers 2003 in Österreich. das temp~electronic music festival bedeutet 2 Tage mit 50 Live-Acts, Djs und Vjs vereint auf drei Bühnen. Nicht auf große headliner zu setzen, sondern einer dynamischen und aktuellen österreichischen Elektronik Szene eine Bühne zu bieten, fand nicht nur bei Publikum und Presse grossen Anklang, sondern erschuf ganz nebenbei auch ein eigenes, umfangreiches Netzwerk aus Künstlern, die seither in regem Kontakt zueinander stehen. temp wartet nicht bis trends paßieren, sondern kreiert eigene hypes. Die Vielfalt einer Szene, die sich nicht auf das Nachahmen bewährter Ideen beschränkt, sondern eigene innovative Spielarten elektronischer Musikkultur hervorbringt stehen im Mittelpunkt eines jeden temp~electronic music festival.
Die Musik, die Stimmung und den Geist des temp~festivals nicht zeitlich und örtlich an die Gegebenheiten eines Festivals zu binden, führte schließlich zur Gründung eines eigenen Labels. Die Idee war es die Ergebnissen am Festival entstandener Kollaborationen, aber natürlich auch generell innovative, vor allem österreichische elektronische Musik in Form eines Tonträgers zu verbreitet, um auch auf der Label-Ebene ein Pendant zur Live-Plattform des Festivals zu schaffen.
Im September 2003 wurde schließlich das Label temp~records gegründet. temp~records hat es sich zur Aufgabe gesetzt die althergebrachten Verhältnisse zwischen Künstler und Label zu verändern. temp~records, dessen Team allesamt selber Musikschaffende sind und sich selbst gerne als ein großes Netzwerk bezeichnet, bindet seine Künstler stark in alle Fragen der Produktion ein und lässt bei der Verwirklichung freie Hand ohne dabei auf Kontinuität und Qualität zu verzichten. Die unglaubliche Vielfalt an elektronischer Musik in ihrer Gesamtheit auf einem label präsentieren zu wollen, ist schlicht weg unmöglich und birgt die Gefahr schnell beliebig zu werden. Aus diesem Grund orientieren sich die neuen releases des labels temp~records an den beiden musikalischen Polen Techno und Dubstep. Dies ist keine Beschränkung, sondern ein roter Faden, der eine einheitliche und vor allem nachvoll ziehbare Linie des labels gewährleisten soll. Wie es bereits das temp~festival vorgeführt hat, so soll auch temp~records eine Plattform für elektronische Musik sein.

It was just an idea of a small festival for electronic music, which became one of the higlights of Austria´s festival summer 2003. The temp~electronic music festival means 2 days of 50 Live-Acts, Djs and Vjs on 3 floors. The main goal was to offer a stage to a dynamic and current Austrian electronic music scene. And this idea was not only the large public and press appeal, but also created its own extensive network of artists located in active contact to each other since then. temp does not wait for trends to happen, but creates own hypes. The variety of a scene, which is not limited to copying proven ideas, but brings out its own innovative forms of electronic music culture is at the heart of every temp~ electronic music festival.
After all, it was impossible to restrict the music, the mood and the spirit of temp~festival only to the local and seasonal conditions. And that ultimately led to start their own label. The idea was not only to spread the results of the collaborations which have been formed at the festival and the innovative Austrian electronic music in general in the form of a phonogram, but also to create on the label level a counterpart to the Live platform of the festival.
The label temp~records was finally founded in September 2003. temp~records has set itself the task to change the traditional relationships between artists and labels. temp~ tries to heavily incorporate artists into questions concerning production and grants enormous liberties in realizing individual ideas without neglecting continuity and quality. The will of presenting the incredible variety of electronic music in its entirety on one label is simply impossible and risks to become optional very fast. For this reason, the new releases of the label temp~records are based on two musical directions: Techno and Dubstep. This is not a restriction, but a central theme, which is to ensure a uniform and a comprehensible line of the label.
The temp~records should become a platform for electronic music in the way that temp~festival already demonstrated.
